QicWorks Global Release: February 2021

The Latest in QicWorks Innovation

February was programmed as a quiet(ish) month whereby our development teams continue pushing forward with our HSEC module, ready for its release in March. This in turn provided the sales team with the perfect opportunity to hit the road and visit many of our awesome QicWorks family members.

This trip provided us with the opportunity to review not only how you interact and onboard with QicWorks, but also remind us of the business pain points you are trying to solve when it comes to job management and scaling.

Let me assure you, while you may think your feedback (good or bad) may seem small or irrelevant, we actually love hearing it. Rest assured your feedback is imperative to us as not only helps us bring the latest tech to you, build a solution that solves your business problems, but it also helps us to support you in your journey.

So, while our February release list is rather small, we were able to release a couple of quick wins to help deliver a better job management solution:

  • Patch to correct Xero API library changes for Paycodes
  • Group timesheet audit
  • Update image UI within HSEC and Shift Reports
  • Addition of new Time Approval warnings when time is entered within time
  • Configuration so that digital forms are assigned to Jobs as selected by Job Dataset

Xero Library Patch

February saw a couple of coding changes occur within Xero’s API library when it comes to handling Australian payroll. This required our team to release a patch to then update our database to allow our users to continue to effortlessly pull their Paycodes from Xero when onboarding.

Group Timesheets

When it comes to collecting time entries QicWorks certainly has flexibility. Not only can you collect time 3 ways - Time clock, Timesheets or Shift Reports, but you can also create timesheets for individuals or Groups. Find out more in our blog: Super Easy Timekeeping

Our Group timesheet underwent a review this month to ensure that the Autofill flow is effortless, resource classifications are correctly assigned, total columns are aligned when in view mode and open sessions no longer causing time duplications.

Improved Image UI in HSEC and Shift Reports

When it comes to reporting events “A picture certainly says a thousand words” and what better way to investigate and interrogate your images than to easily zoom in or out, rotate or flip them.

February saw the rollout of a more interactive image viewing tool throughout the application.

Time Approval Warnings – Time inside Time

We often see daily time captured for a resource via multiple time entries. For example a user clocked in on a time clock at the workshop, but was then transferred to site, where their time was also captured via a shift report. We refer to these entries at “Time inside Time” and to help identify these events we have now added more concise warnings within the Time Approval screen.

Once the times have been cleaned and Manager approval is granted, this warning bar will then hide.

Send your Digital Form to the Job

One of our most requested features is the ability to file a copy of a digital form within the relevant job’s folder. Just think of all those toolbox minutes, audits, delivery dockets and safety forms that are floating around in your filing cabinets, cars and offices. Not any more!

Now a copy of your completed digital form will appear in the selected Job’s folder. Simply use the pre-set Job Dataset when creating your form.


Sneak Peek at Next Month

Along with any enhancements identified by our users that improve the day-to-day functionality of QicWorks, the dev team will also be working towards the release of the following in March:

  • Release of our HSEC module – check out our blog: Sneak peek at QicWorks HSEC
  • Release of our CRM module (high level CRM to track outstanding tenders, Customer spend, lead funnel and works in progress)
  • Improvements to our materials module (inclusion of max/min quantities, bin locations, supplier contracts and delivery dockets)
  • Continual deployment of Help files, troubleshooting knowledge base and tutorial videos to help our community with their QicWorks Journeys.
