QicWorks Product Release Wish List

We love receiving feedback about how we can provide an easy-to-use job management platform with the flexibility you need to manage your engineering, construction, fabrication or site installation business.


You may even have heard the team talk about our Product Wish List.


For those of you who are unaware, our Product Wish Board is our running list of customer ideas and improvements that the QicWorks development team use to identify, manage and prioritise our product roadmap for new releases and updates.


Your input counts!

The QicWorks team is driven by delivering exciting innovation that improves our user’s experiences and increases productivity for small businesses owners, their financial advisors and key stakeholders. We know your time is precious and we love being able to implement tech solutions to help to alleviate the stress of running a business.


So how exactly does the team prioritise the Product Wish List. First off, we hold a number of brainstorming sessions to ascertain the following criteria:


  1.   Does the idea help the majority of our community
  2. Does it drive productivity and promote scale of business
  3. Is there a statutory requirement or deadline for this feature
  4. Can the code be implemented without causing detriment to the rest of the program
  5. Does it improve and strengthen the QicWorks application and our delivery, ensuring future prosperity for all


A lot of our releases have come about due to an identified gap in market (like the ability to create customised document prefixes.) While others are what we call quick wins (such as removing touchpoints in our processes or creating new reports to display existing data.)


While we love receiving your feedback, we are mindful that some changes cannot be made due to coding restrictions or legislative requirements. One such example of this a suggestion to remove the start time field on timesheets to reduce the about of data entry required. This field is not only required in accordance to Fairwork Commission Australia rulings and subsequent awards, but also poses a problem within QicWorks code structure. When no start time has been entered, the system assumes the worker was actually working on two (2) jobs at the same time and his/her shift commenced at midnight.

What you might not know is contained within our Help Centre is a ticketing system whereby you can submit and vote on upcoming features.


To access it, simply log into QicWorks and click on the grey ? help icon located next to your Avatar – top right of screen. Navigate to Community Forum and then sign in via the My Area Tab.



Once you have logged in, click on the Community tab where you will be able to see existing suggestions and ideas. You can even use the “Search Community” search bar located at the top of your screen, to see if your idea has already been previously submitted.



To create/lodge a suggestion or idea simply click on the plus icon and choose Submit a Ticket. Here you can enter in the specifics of your request. Don’t forget to include any screenshots or URL links that might help our developers.



To cast your vote against existing ideas, simply click on the Idea filter. You can also join the conversation by clicking on the specific idea, enter your comments using the dialogue box and then submit via the Add Comment button.




 Sometimes it may not feel like your suggestion is getting the attention it deserves, and this is simply not true. A delay in development might be caused by competing priorities, statutory deadlines, complex product testing or our development team being assigned to what we call ‘behind the scenes’ coding. (Behind the scenes coding examples include such things as server updates, better storage and security management, major coding language changes or improvements to loading speeds, all of which are essential functions to ensure longevity of the program for everyone.)
